I Didnt Know It Could Be This Easy

Filed under: Music — Tags: — admin @ 7:04 am

Let me tell you all about Sonic Producer. I owe all of my success to the discovery of this program. It happened very much by accident last summer when I was browsing a hip hop internet forum. I was originally doing a research paper on the subculture, and someone mentioned how easy it was to make beats.

I didn’t know it could be this easy. Within a day I had put together a beat. And I sent it to the internet forum where I was doing my research. In a few days I had been contacted by a dozen different rappers who wanted to buy it for a few hundred dollars. I couldn’t believe it. They wanted me, a 40 year old suburban dad, to put together the beats for their next album. I do most of the production and sell the rights to other producers, now. It’s like ghost writing for beats.

Copyright Your Beats

Filed under: Music — Tags: — admin @ 7:42 am

Be careful that people do not steal your beats right from underneath your Internet nose. Avoid this potential disaster by copyrighting your beats on your blog or beat selling page. You don’t want to all of a sudden hear your beat being played and someone else getting the exposure and credit. Also, limit the number of times someone can use your beat on one of their albums or records. You should have different types of licenses set up when you go to sell your beats online. Most beat selling websites will already have these different licenses set up for you., so you will not have to worry about it. You always want to get the most out of your beats and never let someone steal them.

Regardless of if you are using dub turbo or some other digital audio workstation you should take care to protect your beats. Some people are unfortunately on the hunt for other’s beats in hopes of making money off of them. Protect your creations by copyrighting them today.

Modernity Meets Techno Music

Filed under: Music — Tags: — admin @ 10:16 am

I think that it’s going to be harder to compose techno songs about modernity than other ages. You might think that techno relates a lot to the industrialization of nations and this would be more amenable to being turned into a techno song, and you’re probably right. The modern age is a busy age, filled with industries and lots of new inventions. Also, there’s a stronger sense of individuality in the air. There are a lot of new ideas floating around, which are also dangerous ideas. I know that personally, I prefer the medieval age, but it’s going to be a historical challenge to represent the modern age through techno music. It’s so near yet so far when it comes to our technological age. There’s progress, but there are no computers. So we can perhaps also include the classical music of great composers like Bach and Mozart in our techno music, since they had their heyday in the modern age.
